Within every individual lies the desire to know juicy gossip. You might be somebody who claims they're not about the drama. Still, I know that when it comes down to it, you aren't going to ignore incredibly compelling and damning stories about your acquaintances you feel negatively towards. It's in our human nature to seek out a compelling narrative that confirms our preconceived biases.

One of the oldest biases that we all have within us is that parents ruin everything. Whether that was true for your childhood is entirely irrelevant. Even if you've grown up, extensively thought about why your parents did the things they did, and forgiven them for their mistakes, there will always be a part of you that resents the power and authority that parents had over you. That's why it's so satisfying to read through wild parenting texts so you can see genuine injustice being done to kids and feel those emotions all over again.
